I put a little guide together for anyone fed up with their fan making a noise or seizing up & dying.

Sounds cheesie but this little tip can save you a lot of money in oscillating fans.

 

I shouldn't need to remind you to turn the electricity off when opening fans up ;)

 

Unscrew back of fan, assuming you use growth tech or similar.

Add a drop of lubricant to centre of motor, dont over do it just a drop or 2.

Hold fan up & turn on letting the lube work its way in for a few seconds.

Remove front & repeat.

Should stop all pesky noise coming from fan & if done regular will last a longtime. :)

Can I just add NOT to use WD40, as it's a degreaser and will get rid of any lubricants :satan:

My fan packed up :(..
Can't find the fooking lube no where to try see if i need to get 1 or two fans...

I take it a strawberry one will be fine :satan: durex so you know it's quality shiz.. :laugh:

 I could do with a couple of them kind of well lubricated fans to turn me on too. :yum:

 

If your fan has seemed to packed up, sometimes I lube it, turn it on & hand spin it..& if the motor hasent burnt out sometimes it starts again.

Put a lil bit on the circled bit in your pic. Turned the fan on had to give it a spin to get the thing going but then once it went all well.. no sound :D..
Back in my groom..

Nice1 lab :D just saved me £6.39 and the lube was £2.60. Fan would of cost me £8.99 :bong:

would white grease work for this got some very expensive stuff that works wonders on anything mechanical i can steal from work - its about £10 a can and sticks like shit to a blanket whilst still lubin stuff up :)
