just need a light scuff around the seam round the sides when trying this method? still have a few tirah valley i would like to try, 

 

all others i tried took a age to crack then when they did gave up, 

 

any tips?

Never done it myself mate but have seen it in the grow bible book.
Only says to put an emery board in a match box with the beans n shake..

i put them in a glass jar half full with dry sharp sand and just shake vigorously for 10 minutes,or if you have a steady hand use a razor blade to chit it by making a notch in the shell at the pointy end i got 10-10 germed ok that way,good luck

bit of blu tack on your finger and you can pick up the seed and rub it on sandpaper,

i scuff all seeds i germ as i'd rather had done it then wish i done it

 

had a few packs lost to not scuffing,such a simple thing as well.

good luck mate but do bare in mind i still have a small stash of the tirah if you want more just pm me,its great to get people growing tirah imo it should be made the most of to which aim i have sent some to 2 different breeders to see what they can conjure up,one of whom may at some point if we very lucky not have a diary not showing tirahs at all.the others gone to a friend who is a fellow afghanica fiend so im sure he will make a good strain out of them,peace

never herd of it   whats it about to allow a seedling through? what do you scuff the seems? i dont we much point in scuffing any where else

 

it all sounds a bit of a faff,  but i did have a bad germ rate with a pack of star ryders  recently would it of helped?

hi forest often very old seeds in cold storage have trouble germing due to changes in the texture of the seedcase and often even if enough moisture makes it way in the cause germination they never make it out the seedcase this method works by releasing the tight shell and allowing proper unfolding of the seed leaves,landrace seeds near allways have thick coats ime esp afghanicas,peace

 

I'd love another couple if these don't sprout m8 il keep u posted here
