Hi everyone, This is a thread I done a couple of years ago somewhere else, but thought I should put it up hear on TGC. I've had to edit the pics but they should be all right.
How to make ......
First of i put 1 pound of butter in a saucepan with a pint of water and heat it up until the butter is melted and the butter/water mix
is simmering nicely. ( I put the water with the butter so the butter doesn't burn while simmering)
While I'm waiting for the butter/water mix to simmer i grind up 1 once of my best bud.
Once the butter/water mix is simmering i pour the ground bud into the butter/water mix, give it a good stir and bring back to a
gentle simmer.
I simmer this for 3 hours stirring every 15 minutes, and topping up with boiling water every half hour so the butter/water mix
doesn't run out of water, because if all the water evaporates the butter will burn, which you don't want.
After 3 hours you should find your canna butter mix has a nice dark green sheen to it like this.
Now i'll strain the mixture into a pyrex bowl to separate the butter from the bud. Some people use muslin cloth, white cotton cloth,
or coffee filters, i just use a metal strainer and the back of a spoon or ladle to get the rest of the butter out of the bud.
Once you have strained all the butter from the bud you can throw the bud away as It's not got any THC left in it.
And then place the bowl of butter and water into the fridge. The butter will rise to the top and solidify.
Leave for 24 hours and then throw the dirty water away leaving the canna butter. I put mine into an old butter or marg tub.
Then i put the tub in a saucepan of hot water to melt the butter again.
Once it's melted i put it back in the fridge to solidify again. Then put the lid on the tub and know one's the wiser, just looks like a normal tub of
butter.
