Imagine that your camera has a roll of film inside it, and that it runs longwise behind the screen — If you roatate the camera, you rotate the film.

So, you get pictures like this, where the last two portrait images need rotating:

yeah i got that bit, you lost me at "it's probably the global attachment routines not reading the orienation from the metadata."

It's only a very minor issue, and I can't say definitively that the skin is the cause, but occasionally after liking a post or clicking into a thread it will revert to desktop skin instead of mobile. Refreshing the page or clicking into another thread sorts it out no problem. Like I say, I'm not sure it's the skin, could be my phone but I've only noticed it since the change.
