depends on a few things :)

proper slow cooker with pressure valve or just slow cooked in a pot in the oven?

Might get to dry if lots of moisture can escape otherwise it should be fine.

8 hours aint too bad for a slow cooked stew :D :P unless it's really tough meat, then it should be very tender by now.

I'd let it cool before putting it in the fridge.

It's a proper slow cooker troll. There is plenty of moisture still I made it a bit soupey as I knew it would be cooking a long time and we not eating it till tomorrow. Will just leave it on low then yea?

yeah should be fine :)

the valve will stop it blowing up and on low thats never ever happening.

But if you're gonna eat it tomorrow night it may have broken right down by then.

I'd probably just turn it off - It'll be fine sitting there overnight :)

I was worried it might get to a dangerous temp for too long while I sleep as in when I would usually put it in the fridge.

I would have thought that what with it being nice and hot to start with there'd be nothing pathogenic in there, and that with the lid on nothing's going to get in.

Maybe take the actual crock out of the cooker if you want it to cool faster?

Maybe Dekay will have eaten it all by morning...

I'm pretty sure that I've eaten more dangerous things than stew that's been left out overnight ;)

I`ve had a slow cooker for donkeys years and i always leave stews or whatever is in it, on low if i go out somewhere for the day cooking away and ive never had any problems to date with it and ive even cooked this way with it on overnight, if your cooking on high with it or medium the gravy/sauce/juices will dry up alot faster and tbh i never do it that way for prolonged periods cus ive come in before to dry stew stuck to pot crispy as feck, but on low youjr laughing imo and just the odd bit of watedr maybe needed to top it up next morning. Tbh the last few years i prefer to cook in oven if im making a stew, but other meals like chilli`s curry`s and such like it works a treat.
