I can't find an RVK Sileo in the catalogue (PDF, 45 MB), but it says this: "The new generation of Systemair products with high efficiency and at the same time drastically reduced sound levels. A new impeller generation, introduced in our roof fans DVS/DHS and our axial fans AW/AR."

£3 in 8 hours
14 pence a kwh my meter.

That's something like 2.5 kW being used continuously — Have you got a heater running, perhaps?

eta: Immersion heater left on by accident, for instance?

I'd be very susrpised if it's using 2.5 kW - Not only would it would get very hot, the air coming out would probably be as warm as that from a fan heater.

i think every week you pay a charge for having the lecky  could it be that ?   i run  led 450w lights and a ruck 6inch high power at half power  or less, 8 pc fans and a clip on 240 6inch fan and my small house if i dont use the over or washing machine i use 2.50 a day

when i use the oven once and the washing machine twice it goes up to 3.50 a day  that with the kettle boiling a lot as well

if you want a quieter fan  and you have the power in hand to reduce its speed that will make it quiter ,use a variac transformer you will only need a small one,

it will not make the fan hum like dimmer type fan speed controlers do ,

or box the fan up in a mdf box or wrap it in rubber matting  and tape it up   for a quieter fan

most of the mixxed flow fans are quite quiet

..and would blow the skin off your face

I'm with @olmec, the 150RVK are ace, I had a special dimmer type switch and I don't thin I ever had it full pelt.

As for quiet domestic fns, I'm sitting about 3M from an envirovent silent, about £90, and I can hear it throug a wall.

Good morning all.

Forest.
Its happened since new extraction fan installed.

It could be faulty.

I think i might change the fan with systemair rvk. See of that makes a difference.
