Hi fellow green circlers,

Saw this link on my fb page, its a photo of a fire in a bedroom grow room,  electrical and water dont mix, slow smouldering as you can see by the smoke layer,

it really is worth thinking about saving up £30 for something like this

I was minutes from the whole kaboom going boom a few years back.

I was nipping out and thought that smells a bit...smokey. Went to the room with the groom in and it was smokey as.

What happened was one of my yoyo's failed and the light swung down to rest on the side of the groom. It was white painted 1.5" MDF board and the bulb had  burnt through it and was seconds from igniting!!

I absolutley shat my pants. But, luckily, got to it in time.

I know i really need to get my bloody ballast moved onto wall outa way of my sloppy watering sessions with plants, splashes of water, it doesn`t take much really. I do have a fire extinguisher at hand and a smoke alarm in the room, so i may get chance to play fireman if shit happens.

I am lucky I have a four meter long work bench down the length of the dividing wall in my shed. Ballast and controller live there. Those electrical items that do go into the tent, fans and the like are powered by a 4 way gang that I zip tied a meter up the support pole in the tent. So while the humidifier is on the ground outside of the drip tray area the entire cable is supported above surface level.

One of those automatic fire extinguishes inside the tent does sound like more and more of a good idea.

You could be a right killjoy on bonfire night with a couple of those beauties :deviltoker:

Can you buy them in the UK @olmec / @Marc ? They do look well handy to have around the house/garage/boot.
