It's been a really long time!

I used to hate it at school but now it is quite invaluable in truely understanding the English language. Often if I dont know a word I can understand either its latin counterpart or the construction in order to get to the correct meaning.

 
My experience was much the same, with far too much Illiad and Odyssey for my liking.
