Hi all

 

If one had things swimming in one's res that looked a bit like tadpoles and moved a lot like tadpoles, but weren't tadpoles... what might one think they were?

 

I'm baffled. Flying things don't usually lay eggs in water do they?

 

They're quite cute really, but not knowing what they are is like not knowing where that big spider ran off to

 

Any ideas?

They'll definitely be more interested in eating the grower than what the grower has  growing

 

We treat them with stuff called mosquito dunks. Looks like a donut made of grain you just drop in the water. The larvae eats it and dies. It also comes in a granular version

Well I'm making up a feed every 3 days at the moment and it smells fresh

 

I do think I'll make a point of emptying the remains before I refill each time though

 

Plants are looking superb so probably just unlucky

 

I'm banning them outright anyway, put a fookin' wall up

Maybe you can find something local with

Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies

israelensis

That's all it is... but it's got to have have the israelensis! It also works on fungus gnats. I feed my girls with rain water, when I can, and keep dunks in the rain barrels, when I remember, lol!
