Hoodaloo Circlers

I found some tiny green wriggly things on a couple of leaves, they seemed to have spun some sort of lines under the leaf

Bits of the leaf had kind of vanished from inside

I'm fairly sure the're moth larvae... makes sense as there are billions of the fuckers about

Defo not thrips or mites

Anyone had this before/know how to fuck them off?

I have neem & plant invigorator, so I think I'll neem spray them thoroughly tonight and then hit them with the other stuff in a few days

I think I've seen the same sort of leaf damage in the garden before & didn't know how it happened, it almost looks like evil fairies have cast a spell on it

The plant still looks great apart from that, but I gotta kill these mofos quick

Cheers me dears

Sounds like they could be sawfly larva Sprink, little green caterpillars that spin themselves a web under the leaf.

If there's not too many of them it may just be easiest to squash them individually.

All good things

Try the chilli infused water spray, Sprink.

Think they'll be affected with it and hopefully vacate the area, as they are soft and squidgy.

Hope you get it sorted amigo, fingers crossed and best of luck.

if they are what you say they are, where do they come from ? do they have larvae inside the pots ? maybe a dry spell and a spay of some kind ? or maybe a spray and a watering of nematodes thru the pots to stop any further outbreaks ? fight nature with nature if you can, gotta be better than sterilising the pot with h202 or peroxide ?

just had a quick search on saw fly larvae, found this on a garden centre site

For sawfly control, we recommend:

  • Vitax Py Spray Garden Insect Killer
  • Bug Clear Fruit & Veg Bug Killer
  • Bayer Provado Ultimate Bug Killer Ready to Use
  • Bug Clear Ultra

i pretty sure all these can be found in b n q ! i used to use provide ultimate bug killer, didn't know bayer owned the company, or should i say bayer-monsanto !

Aye I have some of the Provado stuff, the neat one

I did spray the plants with it a few weeks ago as a preventative measure. Sounds harsh, but I knew there was bound to be bugs galore this time of year

I don't have any chillies, so I might wipe all the leaves with neem to physically remove any wee beasties, and put a bit of peroxide in the feed. It's coco & I didn't use fungi

Bloody hell, wee beasties are really gunning for me & my plants

Then there's the dog climbing on my tomato plants, knocking them over & digging them up, it's a bloody conspiracy I tell ya's

Well from what I read about sawfly on a BBC page, I reckon it's them

Says they look like moth larvae and "skeletonise" the leaves

It's not really a pattern like with mites or thrips, on not squiggly lines, more like the leaf is wasting away

A two pronged attack should do them nicely whatever they are, no-one messes with my sativa!

Horrible little fuckers, I got something starting to eat me leaves in me poly tunnel. I'm going to give them a good spray with Trounce tomorrow and then again a few days later.

Hope you get it sorted Sprink mate.
