Found a recipe for a mole repellent, no idea how effective it is though - never seen a mole around here.
Here is the recipe for this mole repellant:
Mix together until foamy: Two parts castor oil, one part dish soap. (One part may equal one cup or one tablespoon, depending on the severity of the problem. If you have a lot of moles, make a big batch and use it daily or share with friends.)
To use, add two tablespoons of mixture to one gallon of water. Spray in and around mole holes. This usually works within a day.
This will need to be repeated every few weeks as the castor oil (which is what the repels the moles) will get washed away over time.

Cheers for that KK, I'll give it a try, the traps don't seem to be working.
No moles in Ireland, they didn't make it across the land bridge during the last Ice Age, either that or St Patrick killed the bastards.

@the OP, I have a little garden out there somewhere where I first noticed that none of the leaves showed any damage from any pests at all. I was pondering this when I found a red ant crawling up my arm, (pans out) in fact, I was crawling with thousands of the buggers!
I was bitten on the lip in this garden last year by one of these and it really hurt. I can only imagine that they are keeping pests at bay (myself excluded)
