Well i would like to share the tips i have learn t off others and myself using this system over the years i have been rocking it..

these tips are what will make the system work without the troubles new growers to this system would come across if they did not know these little fine tuning tips...

if you use these then you cannot go far wrong imo... and it will serve you well indeed..

packers x2 that the system sits on...

packer at the pump end is thicker than the packer at the non pump end...

this creates a better flow but not too much flow.but also importantly it stops the chances of pooling on the tray-spreader matt,.

this of course is the thinner packer.why you ask does it sit on two packers... well i have a packer at bottom end as when you need to change over the reservoirs and pump out the old,if you pull out the packer at the (front)  end or pump end all the old nutes at the bottom end then comes to the front where your pumping from.. of if you cant afford a maxijet 1000 to pump old out a 500ml jug will get it out far quicker than the nft pump used in the system..

I always fill. To below the level marker otherwise the bottom plant on the tray tends to sit in the nutes about due to the fall of the tray I mentioned above

Here is the pump running at quarter power which I start them on when they first go in the system so the roots go searching I know of people using timers for a start for this but I have never bothered

Here you can see how the tanks are full of nutes
So that's the time to level up top and bottom of the system

That of course helps it spread more even across the tray then 👍

Top tip unplug the feed tube every time you adjust ph and ec whilst mixing etc or you might end up pumping onto roots 🙄

You can use what ever to cover over the trays and cut out for your plants where you want them or how many
Kingsman type stuff I normally use but here I'm trying this for a change
Tape all edges up so no light gets in on the roots etc we don't want light leaks!!!
Tape round where plants are too so no light getting in

Enough roots now to go in the system a minimum of half a dozen
