|So Ive got some stretchy bitch's on my hands and a truck load of buds under the canopy / but above the net that im thinking could do with some TLC.

Has anyone ever cropped the top of the canopy to get the lower buds to ripen up ? If so how woud you recommend going about it ?

Should i crop the top's a week early and let the lower stuff go for another week ? Would this stress them enough to just stop them from doing anything ?

I think the amount of tops i created on my grow has caused a lot of small buddage above and below, but theres a LOT of it. I think it could be a good thing as bud rot is a bitch and struggled with high humidity this grow and theres a lot of plant matter in there. So smaller buds would mean less chance of rot if it does decide to rear its ugly head.

WOnt be scrogging this Black Cherry Punch again, was my first go at it, and i much prefer mainlining or just some LST for next time.

Tips / tricks / advice welcome.

Cheers

Hukt

I've done this a couple of times, although it's not been in a scrog.

I didn't take any special care, simply removing the top portion of the main stem at the usual time with its branches intact whilst leaving the rest, and I didn't notice any problems :)

It may be that taking off lots of smaller pieces could induce more stress, which might mean leaving it for a few extra days but, if the top is ready then giving a little more time to the lower buds in the interests of gaining (what sounds to be) a potentially significant increase in yield seems like a reasonable bet to me.

YMMV, of course ;)

Good luck! :)

Pretty much what Anonymiss said really take the ripe buds and leave the undeveloped until its ripe.

In my experience, its worth it but will stress most plants what I've noticed the second part to be a stronger high probably because of stress hormones.

Cheers lads. I cant be arsed with havin loads of trim for doin concentrates or extracts, an it would be a shame to not let them ripen.

This lot will keep me goin for a good while if i do this. Think im going to re do the room once its done so it'll be out of action for a while after chop day.

Ill update as it progresses.

7 weeks since flip on thursday, they didnt start showing flowering parts till a week after flip, and im about 50 / 50 clear/cloudy trichs at the momment. 1 of the phenos has totally stopped new pistil growth up top, the other 2 are still outting out fresh growth.

I do it often if needed . Lop the tops off and carry on for the bottom half
