Hello Marcus the way I do it is, get a small pot with coco in it, let it drain, cut your clone at a good angle, dip it in clonex, make a small hole in the coco with a toothpick or something similar, push clone into hole pushing coco round the stem of the clone to seal it in the pot, cover pot with a large zip bag and zip it up tight and leave it to do It's thing, you should have roots within 3 weeks or less.

The zip bag acts as a humidity dome and you don't need to water it, job done  ;)  :) .

Forgot to say, the coco I use has a light feed in it, enough to feed a good rooted clone for about a month or so, so don't need to use any extra feed.

How big are the cuts you take?

Hi @Budgie .

I cut them off the plant, then take all the leaves off bar the top ones. I then cut a 45 angle about 3 (clean) nodes down and whack it in some damp coco / jiffy pellet /  root riot cube, then into a misted clear storage tub.

I then put it under the T5 that's 40cm ish away and by morning they're all lying down.

So I'm gonna try again with my germination tester beans in a few weeks.

They probably sweated to much Marc, just put them on a widow seal or somewhere else bright. I've never used a any lighting system to grow clones mate.

So I'm gonna try again with my germination tester beans in a few weeks.

Try to do them like in the pic next time.

Take your cut with two sets of leaf nodes and the growth tip. Trim away the lower node. leaving a single set of leaf nodes and the growth tip. The top remains intact with the leaf tips trrimmed. Make your 45deg cut directly below the trimmed leaf node, Dip into gel/rooting powder and into soil/pellet that is moist but not wet. Keep warm without much deviation in temps, keep in a fairly humid environment and keep the pellets just moist.

The cut at the trimmed node is done as that is where growth auxins are located which increases rooting success. Having just one set of leafs means less plant matter for the plant to self nourish while its rooting. The trimmed leaf tips mean less ability to transpire/photosynthesise giving the cut a better chance of diverting it's energy to the root formation.

Lol i like it and thanks @Budgie thats pretty helpful

@Marcus i made a bubble cloner that works i got a 10 ltr hempy bucket with a lid 5 ltr would be better tho

It works but takes some getting used to.. i might tke one clone today and try it again... but only down side i noise from the stones and the pump when on high

Good thing is you dont need much faffing about with humidity and keep moist in a dome lark

I cant clone in sponge or jiffy unless its spring and in greenhouse/polly lol i can leave em in there and look in after a week with roots

Good luck tho buddy i can update what i happens whith me single clone if you like ill get stuff set up now lol wife wont be please lmaoo

Hi @Dex

No need to fire up the bubbles dude, I got a few weeks yet and I'll try with some coco again 1st.

I found a tub of Wilko own brand cloning powder, so I got that too.

Too late I need to clone painkiller any way and save bro a job lol

So went ahead and got it going Attached File  20190301_191331.jpg   126.09KB   0 downloadsAttached File  20190301_191629.jpg   101.23KB   0 downloads

I set water ph to 5.. I know if this is done right it's fast at popping root.. Aparantly

Took me a two weeks last time with just tap water ph of 7.3 and not even touched nor res filled came home to one with big set of roots and second with same but not as dangly root :D

No need to keep moist just make sure water level is right and bobs your aunty ..

Came home from Africa to find roots lol

Hi folks.

So I'm gonna bring this thread back, I still have no luck with cloning.

I am pondering turning a 20L black bucket into a dwc type cloner, anyone got any advice for an idiot?

TA.

Also,

Hey Horse...

Is the light in the cardboard box, or you keep them in the dark?

The light is in the box, Marcus... but it doesn't really matter because no one should ever do anything I do with clones, unless you like dead ones.

I'm about to just do seeds, especially before I'm brought up for a homicide rap

Take the younger shoots from lower down the plant for a better success rate as well. :)

I think you can root them in tyotal darkness as well, but i never tried i just sling em under t-5 or root the ones in water on windowsill during summer. :)
