Do you find the QBS throw out more foliage?

i been having to defoliate a lot to allow light in as they are just dense with leaves,i know its frowned upon too much removal but since i did a bit of strategic leaf plucking i fee better about light penetration,its not as if they dont have a shit tonne of leaves a still anyway lol.

 

Id be a very happy man if i had that harvest now

all leds like cob and qb seem to do it , and once you start changing where the auxins go with some canopy management,  they really seem to leaf out  im quite brutal in that there's no large fans left come harvest , i think i had five goes at this lot and thats a lot of leaf but they just make more , from what i understand it the extra blue in the spectrum it help with resin production but the leaf is the pay off , 

but if grown naturally i dont see as much ,

yep @Forest , i noticed that too and did a fair bit of plucking to try allow light in,is the key to all this then, the balance of red and blue similar to a dual spec hps and simply getting the correct percentages in order to control foliage rates a bit more, or is it just the nature of the tech?

 yes the percentages for sure , there is some  cob chips made for horti  by all the big makers but they  are expensive i would imagine they are more intune ,

its not the same a hps for sure but i wouldnt go back to hid lighting  now  the electric savings  do really help and everything i grow under them comes out absolutely frosty and tastier than when i used hid,  i mix organic and chemical feeds and it seems to work contra to what some say

If you went the same watts used as the hps they would be annihilated although the price tag could annihilate a pocket depending on bank account ofc ha ha ,3/4 power seems reasonable like Ive saw you mention before, the terps are off the charts an additional add on of larger cf needed lol.
