I use Panda and Ive also used Avast and AVG. Just sign up to usually a 30 day free trials with Avast and AVG  but don`t give any bank details, they will just revert to free version with less functions when trial is up, you can go in settings and block annoying pop ups they may send ya reminders type things like "your trial is running out" But i find Panda free version is cock on duke.Remember to turn off ya windows anti virus but not firewall, mind you i think it may do that for ya, but best to check in > control panel > system security >

You could also look at some anti virus add-ons for ya browser if using firefox, not that i use one cus Panda does job for me, but other add-ons as well like Add Blocker Plus, HTTPS everywhere and Script Blocker, mind you that script blocker can be a bit of bummer till you know what to let through and what to block, but the 2 others work on their own. Theirs also a very light program i use for added security call Tinywall, basically it`s a free firewall that works alongside your windows firewall and it`s not heavy on resources so it doesn`t slow computer down, just click on it`s little icon  in bottom right of your screen once you`ve started it up and set to auto learn. You may have to turn it off every now n then till it knows it`s shit, like with uploading pictures online or downloading things, but it`s well worth using, after so long it just knows it`s stuff and works on it`s own in background with normal protection setting on.

Their may have been a free trial with Panda as well mate i forgot, but same again they just revert to free version after trial is over.

I used to use AVG for free, for nearly 5 years, that was pretty good.

I now pay but it's about £30 for 2 years and that's for 5 computers, so my son, Mrs and one in France are all covered.

Tiny-Wall free firewall download https://tinywall.pados.hu/download.php

TinyWall is excellent, although it's not an antivirus and it can be really annoying until it's configured because it blocks everything by default so nothing works until it's specifically allowed.
