Admin has told me to get off my lazy arse and run a comp, so I will.

 

It will start in March when I'm back in France but I thought I would run a few ideas past you and hope your contributions will help make it the bestest comp ever!

 

No slippers are required to enter the comp but some of you will need glasses or a loupe. It will last about 2 weeks.

 

Here's how it will work:

 

I will put up a large photo of a random scene within which there will be a number of slippers, between zero and six.

 

They will be hard to spot so take your time, there may be some false leads such as lumps of wood that resemble slippers, or maybe a sock or two.

 

There will not be any other kind of footwear as that may prove too difficult for you to distinguish.

 

You will then have one guess each on how many slippers you can see.

 

A minimum of 24 hours later another photo will be put up and you can see how many slippers you can spot.

 

When the second pic goes up all guesses for the first pic will be closed. One point will be awarded to each correct guess although you will not know if you were correct until the end of the comp.

 

This will go on until seven pics have been put up. It may take longer than 7 days because I may forget or be too stoned to post them at a set time, hence the minimum of 24 hours between pics.

 

After the last pic has been posted it will be time to add up all the slippers you've spotted into a grand total. This will be worth 10 points.

 

The winner is the one with most points. The max number of points available will be 17. So you can still win if you miss one or two pics but will have a better chance if you have a guess each day as well as the grand total.

Your alternative suggestion could prove to be a little unfair because some pics may have 6 slippers and some none, so if someone misses a day with 6 they would be unlikely to win the overall comp.

Yeah, I can see pros and cons to it myself

I guess that the flip side of your point might be if someone finds five slippers out of six in one picture and gets no points.
