No germination from the OG Kush autos and the Dinafem Gorilla feminized is unstable. @Exmailguy received three (3) Barneys Liberty Haze, The prize for POTM was to be ten (10) seeds but I guess 3 genuine  is better than what I received. 

 

 

The LH looks promising next to the mystery seed received from my good buddy duke.

hi the barneys seeds are all 3 packs that is what they sent us i do think they do bigger packs but not as free prizes,im surprised at the og kush though not at the gorilla as if you read the heritage it is another of those bred from hermie stocks and so is unstable,theres many strains now bred same way and it plain wrong imo but breeders dont seem to think so and if you complain they say it is likely something you did to cause it because there genetics are testd blah,blah,bullshit,

though ive not tried the auto version of the og all my photoperiod ones germed just fine.

i do wonder if they xray goods going to canada and usa and maybe damage the seed embryos?i have no idea if thats the case but seems odd to me normally good genetics i have sent your way often seem to not germinate,mystery but good luck with what grows!peace

I do understand that a few past Mods may have taken off with the seed stash and I do appreciate that I did receive a prize, the three pack of Liberty Haze from Duke, which I gave 2 of those seeds to @igiggle because he grows mostly photos, while I like autos. I would question the xray only because the 1 Liberty Haze seed in igiggle's grow is one that I received from Duke and it seems to be doing fine. I'll be giving one of those Liberty Haze seeds a try on my next grow and I hope to do a grow journal, I'm very anxious to see a good result because from what I understand they have a lime scent to the bud and the smoke.

no insult implied or intended i was simply stating a fact that several different growers other than yourself had trouble germing seeds that seemed fine and grew here no problem thats all and having an enquiring mind i like to try figure out the reason,cheers

My personal take on it (feel free to disagree..) is that not all the seeds donated by sponsors are equal, some seem to be from old stock that might not otherwise be sold. Not only does it make economic sense from the breeders point of view, but it matches what I've seen happen myself and to others.

Quite often it seems to be particular strains have more issues than others, out of 10 each, not a single Widow Remedy sprouted, while every G13 did. Same breeder (Barneys), same time, very different result. No difference in germ method either.

It's not just freebies from here either; I've seen just as bad results from resellers and direct from breeders too. It just comes down to the breeder making use of old stock rather than binning, it's very hit and miss but the alternative is no freebies.

Will be rigging a new 1000w HPS in the room to join the two LED COB's and the Quantum board. Seems a bit much for one plant but I can't bare watching the Gorilla struggle.
