Some growers say it gives you a sweeter taste  more frost... Also that coco does have bacteria to feed, friendly bacteria...

I hand water so it doesn't clog anything up. So I'm trying it.

Most growers will say it's got No use in coco.

I found it was great food for fungus gnats

I used it a lot in mud. I never could tell if it helped cos I was a lousy mud grower.

Tried it in perlite hempies, that's when the gnat hoard hit.

I use it outdoors to feed the microbes for veggies... at least I hope it's feeding them, not sure how to tell :pimped:

Be interesting to hear how you get on with it :)

Feeding Plants with Molasses
Blackstrap molasses is high in calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium. It also contains sulfur and a host of micronutrients. Using molasses as fertilizer provides plants with a quick source of energy and encourages the growth of beneficial microorganisms.4 Nov 2020

I wonder about this. I was under the impression that the carbs feed the microbes, which in turn make the poo the plants can actually use. Not sure how that can be quick?

Some interesting points on here. I have used bud candy before and I think it's good. Even in coco it was good. Also used it in soil.

I have used molasses in soil too, was quite new to growing then so can't even remember if it was any good...lol Long time ago.

I just have to know. I read some coco growers post and he used a and b coco nutes each feed and molasses twice a week. He posted that people always say whatever you're doing to grow sugary frosty dank weed, don't change a thing!! It jus got me thinking. Maybe taste is the next step in experimenting on growing. There's got to be something right..?

Taste may be part of it. I hate the smell of molasses. My dad had an animal feed business, and the plant reeked of it. Made me gag on every visit... I can still smell it 60 years later! :eww:

I have heard of folks tasting the molasses in their weed. I never did, but maybe because I was still gagging from using it.

Now, I did use sucanat in the dark ages of my dirt days. My taste buds are shot after too many years of fags, so I don't know if it helped on the taste, but it doesn't make me feel like puking.

Can weed plants actually uptake carbs through roots ? i used to think they could and i have read they could in very small amounts in past, but after reading odd bit on it all just lately, im undecided. I used to use dextrose as a carb boost but twas fructose ive seen mentioned used for taste before, both known as simple carbs. In theory neither need to be broken down before plant can uptake them unlike molasses which is a more complex carb @ Spaceman. White table sugar is summink and another ive used plenty of in past which is glucose and frutose combined to crerate sucrose. It`s a mad one is use sugars that im undecided on nowadays although summink like molasses has a heck of a lot more going for it than just the sugar thing hence "complex carb". :) .

from my understanding there  no point unless you are feeding beneficial bacteria to multiply them, its sexxy time when you feed them simple sugars, "molasses "  its not in a form roots like or need  its food for the bennies and what they excrete the plants can use   imo

, to much will drop the ph as well  so something to bear in mind
