And most that make it in the UK use iso i would think, we can`t get pure drinking alcohol no were near that strength. Duke is your man and can explain why it`s pretty harmless once evaporated.

i dont know man, i dont wanna be messing with my eyes and stuff..

this thing in the liver becomes to acetone - which is also extremly toxic,

and i have just read that a drop of it would make you feel sick, more than that will kill you.

now there is not a bad chance for more than a drop to end up in ur oil...

do you eat the oil, or do you smoke it ?

see i wanna be eating it...

do you sometimes feel sick in some way ?

We smoke it, we eat it, some of us even stick it up our arse :)

Process it all right and there's an absolutely minute amount of iso left, traces really, and none of us have ever reported any harm from it.

Would distilling isopropyl get rid of it`s impurities and make it safe to drink ?

hi don right a few misinformations that have been going around the web regarding isopropyl, firstly any report coming from the americans bares no relation to iso produced in the uk usa produce iso in a very different method using acids they also denature there by adding poisons and emetics to stop people from drinking it,that is what made a very few people sick.if you use isopropyl 99.9% from the uk and follow my oil recipe you will have a good safe oil to use the americans are so anti iso i have given up talking to them about it now and just posted lab test results showing our iso oil with the only contaminants found is water,i guess this is the 0.1 % that isnt isopropyl even then they still dont believe it,good luck

thanks all for all the answers...

@duke my friend - have you got the chance to compare a -

99.9% is oil - vs. - 96% grain alcohol oil ?

@jimmi -

i belive theoretically its possible if that 0.1% is made of drinkable stuff, like say water..

than you can seperate the two technically, but you would get virtually nothing ...

0.1% from a liter would be only 1ml, to drink a cup of this stuff you would need a 100 liters ...

I think getting rid of the last .1% is going to be rly hard because they are going to be bonded on a molecular level

No.

It's not the impurities that are the problem here — the isopropanol itself is toxic.

it is a shame we cant get everclear or similar drinkable spirit but the price is mental i am stuck with using what we can get but happy the oil has been tested twice now and only residue is water of course thats if you do the job properly just for simple test of any oil for left over alcohol is simply heeat a bit in a spoon with a flame over it if theres any solvent left it will ignite it,basic but some guide.i wish we also had easy and quick test method which will only happen if it ever get legal even then we would be sidelined for the big pharma  im sure, peace
